HUGH H. WARE, age 81, of Marion, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Marion.
HUGH was born on June 10, 1927, in Huntington, Indiana, the son of Albert and Martha (Hartman) Ware. They preceded him in death.
He was a 1945 graduate of Bippus High School, Bippus, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947 in the European Theatre in Frankfort Germany. He married L. Joan Houser on July 10, 1948. She survives. He worked at the International Harvester, Ft. Wayne and General Motors, Marion. He retired in 1986 after 30 years of service.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and watching Gaither videos.
Survivors include Wife, L. Joan Ware of Marion, Indiana; Daughters, Sherry Fosnough of Decatur, Indiana; Bonita Ware of Delaware, Ohio and Georgia Ware of Marion, Indiana; one Son, Reverend Dr. Steven Ware (Becki) of New York City; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Orren Ware (Delores) of Columbia City, Indiana and Wayne Ware (Eva Dean) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and one sister, Laura Burtrum of Springfield, Missouri.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, at St. James Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Carlson and Reverend Dr. Steven Ware officiating.
Burial with full military rites will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
