Iva D. Blankenship, age 82, passed away at 10:01 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at the Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo, Indiana.
Iva was born on November 27, 1928, in Lutts, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Marvin and Clara (Rich) Holt. She married Floyd Blankenship on September 19, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2007. Iva retired in June 1992 from the Oak Hill School Corporation.
She was a member of the Woodland Hills Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, tending to her flowers, crocheting, reading her Bible and visiting the shut ins. Iva most loved spending time with her family and walking with her friends at Swayzee Elementary School.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rhonda Winn (Larry) of Kokomo, Indiana, and Twila Blankenship of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Erica Scott of Marion, Amber Scott of Marion, Jason Scott of Indianapolis, Dawn Brenton (Andy) of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Kevin Winn (Elesha) of Murray, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Jalen Scott of Marion, Dakota Scott of Peru, Noah Winn of Murray, Kentucky, Eli Winn of Murray, Kentucky, Alec Brenton of Fayetteville, Georgia, Aden Brenton of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Ava Brenton of Fayetteville, Georgia; two sisters, Yvonne Price (Bobby) of Cypress Inn, Tennessee, and Hazel Woods of Marion, Indiana; a brother, Doyle Holt (Lula Belle) of Lutts, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Iva was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Smith and Wylodean White.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Larry Winn & Andrew Brenton, Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
