Jack W. Mullins, age 92, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012, in Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Jack was born on October 2, 1919, in Hutchison, Kansas, the son of the late George W. and Mable Mullins. He married Hester Kirkpatrick, and she preceded him in death on January 18, 2002.
Jack retired from the Marion Fisher Body Plant from the Powerhouse. He also retired from the Navy after 32 years, serving during WWII, and re-enlisting in the reserves.
Jack was a lifetime member of the Amvets; and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and had achieved a "hole in one" at Harts Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling and camping.
Survivors include: son, Steve W. (Evon) Mullins of Oneida, Illinois; two daughters, Sally (Dennis) Shields of Marion, Indiana, and Kathy (Mike) Mehringer of Whiteland, Indiana; 6 grandchildren: Gary (Cathy) Shields of New Palestine, Indiana, Jody (Jeff) Lee of Marion, Indiana, Kelly Van Rycke of Davenport, Iowa, Parke (Richie) Mullins of Oneida, Illinois, Ginger (Jessie) Torrez of Galesburg, Illinois, and Mike (Andrea) Mehringer of Greenwood, Indiana; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Bob Garra officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012, in the funeral home.
