Jackie “Jack” Antrobus, age 73, of Marion passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Jack was born on October 14, 1949, in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Spencer Carl Antrobus and Lula (Bowles) and James Ellis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam.
Jack served the City of Marion for over 30 years, both as a Police Officer and Street Superintendent. He was a Licensed Funeral Director and worked at Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home for 12 years.
He was a 33rd Degree Free Mason and a member of the McCulloch Lodge #109 F&AM in Jonesboro; Ft. Wayne Scottish Rite; Fraternal Order of Police, St. Martin Boots Lodge # 79; American Legion Post 10; and Amvets Post 5. He was also a member of the I.F.D.A., and the Aero Club. Jack was a Third Degree Blackbelt in Shorin-ryu. Jack leaves behind many beloved family members and friends.
He is survived by a son, Joshua Antrobus of Marion; daughters, Amy (Michael) Potoski of Jonesboro and Jacque Antrobus of Camden, SC; brothers, S. Carl Antrobus of N. Manchester, and Andy Ellis of Fairmount; 5 grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “Papa Jack”, Spencer (Michael) Raber, Noah Pond, Brayden Potoski, Aalyn Antrobus, and Ezra Antrobus; and his beloved dog, Hairy.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Joel “Adam” Antrobus in 1989, a brother, Ronnie Quick and two sisters, Madeline Richey and Beverly (Antrobus) Conner.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Chaplain Mark Bardsley officiating.
Burial will be held at the Rankin Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Indiana at a later date.
