James E. Holman, age 74, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
James was born on January 27, 1938, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late Charles and Mildred (Williams) Holman. He married Judy DeMarcus on February 25, 1961, and she survives.
He worked in Quality Control at the Marion General Motors plant for 38 years, retiring in 1997, and was an Army veteran.
He was a member of the Van Buren Lions Club. James enjoyed fishing, golfing, going to the 1812 Re-Enactment, traveling to Florida and spending quality time with his family.
Survivors include: wife, Judy Holman of Marion, Indiana; son, Terry (Lori) Holman of Van Buren, Indiana; daughter, Sherri (Robert) Hyatt of Marion, Indiana; two brothers, John Holman, and Richard Holman, both of Florida; three sisters, Lois DeMarcus, of Tennessee, Nyla Hatfield of Swayzee, Indiana, and Marilyn Fields of Gas City, Indiana; and grandchildren, Bethany Holman, T.J. Holman, Allison Hyatt, and Sydney Hyatt.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Ballinger.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, with the Reverend Paul Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home.
