James T. James, age 85, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, in his daughter's home in Marion, Indiana.
James was born March 4, 1930, in Coffeen, Illinois, the son of the late Charles and Stella (Cummings) James. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dora Luella Turner whom he married July 2, 1955.
James was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to dance to anything, especially country music. He loved watching his westerns and Turner classics. He enjoyed being with family especially his grandchildren who tortured him in their own special way. Known as Jim to friends and family, he was a hard-working man who served his country in the National Guards for 10 years. He has worked various jobs to support his family. He would walk from Russiaville to Kokomo every day to find work. He had worked for the railroad, RCA, Malleable Iron Works, a cabinet company in Frankfort in his early life and ended his work career at the Marion Inn.
He is survived by his wife, Dora James; daughters, Bonnie (Doug), Kathy (Art), Debra (the late Wayne), Sharon (Dave) and Lisa (Carlos); 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Kay; sisters, Edna, Lily, Mable and Mary; and one brother, Charles.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Chaplain Darrell Smith officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2015, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
