James F. McClure, age 80, of Marion, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015.
James was born on July 2, 1935 in Huntington, Indiana to the late Donald and Dorothy (Guhl) McClure. He married Patricia Crist on August 2, 1957, and she survives. He worked at General Motors in Marion and Detroit until his retirement. He enjoyed 30 years of healthy retirement.
He was a lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church in Marion; President of Full Gospel Business Men; and past member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He loved to hunt and fish and was an excellent artist. He also built and designed two homes and was a very talented carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia McClure of Marion, Indiana; a son, Ted McClure (Matt Sigler) of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters, Louann (Jeff) Vandemark of Ohio, and Suzie Mack of Marion, Indiana; sister, Barbara (Mike) Conrad of Arizona; brothers, Duane (Dotty) McClure of Marion, Indiana, Phil (Jean) McClure of South Bend, Indiana, Ronald (Carol) McClure of Michigan, and Gary (Barbara) McClure of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Vandemark, Kayla Mack-Heathcote (Mike), Jessica Vandemark and Joshua Vandemark; and great-grandchildren, Jimi, Jack, Hallie and Lula.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Rita Kay and Janice Elaine; and a grandson, Jimmy Mack.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1206 N. Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Bill Lahrman officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Burial will follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County, Indiana.
