Jerry "J.D." Dilley, age 59, of Marion, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013, in his home.
Jerry was born January 7, 1954, in Marion, Indiana, the son of Harry Dilley and the late Mary Louise (Oswalt) Dilley. He married Terrie Stout on March 24, 1989, and she survives.
Jerry was a 1972 graduate of Marion High School, and worked at Chrysler from 1972 until his retirement in 2002.
He was a member of the U.A.W. #685; the H.O.G.; Milwaukee Iron MC; A.B.A.T.E.; and the AMRA. Jerry attended Grace Community Church and loved taking care of his horses and animals. He enjoyed drag racing motorcycles and won the National Drag Racing Championship in 1994 and 1995. Jerry was a proud father and grandfather.
Survivors include: wife, Terrie Dilley of Marion, Indiana; father, Harry D. Dilley of Marion, Indiana; son, David D. Dilley of Riley, Indiana; daughter, Andrea M. Cox-Dilley of Marion, Indiana; brother, Ronald (Brenda) Dilley of Marion, Indiana; sister, Phyllis Stepler of Amboy, Indiana; grandchildren, Kristin L. Nemes, Laney G. Joseph and Chase S.M. Cox; and life-long friends, Rick King, Tony Waymire and Rick Enyeart, all of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and a brother, Richard A. Dilley in 2010.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Burial will follow in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
