Jim F. Johnson, age 69, of Converse passed away Wednesday morning February 3, 2016 in his home.
Jim was born September 18, 1946 in Clinton, Kentucky, the son of the late Frank and Hazel (Adams) Johnson. He married Linda Morris on December 10, 2010, and she survives.
Jim worked at the Marion General Motors plant for 40 years, retiring on June 1, 2006. He was also the former owner of the Pit Stop in Gas City and Marion.
He was a member of the New Life Club and was a singer with the band the Quadrell's. He loved dogs, was an avid NASCAR fan and a former race car driver; and enjoyed going to see other people sing.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson of Converse, Indiana; three sons, Jimmy Johnson of L'Anse, Michigan, and David and Tim Johnson, both of Hammond, Indiana; sister, Betty Jean (John) Strawser of Hammond, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Cassie and Samantha Johnson, and Michael Anthony.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Friends may call from noon to 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, in the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
Burial will immediately follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
