Jimmy Lee Harlan, Sr.

Jimmy Lee Harlan, Sr., age 67, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Jimmy was born July 21, 1949 in Peru, Indiana the son of the late Orville Harlan and Frieda E. (Paul E.) Hamblen. He married Marie Coleman on March 30, 1973, and she survives. He was an electrician and had a journeyman’s card. He worked at Active Products in Marion for 26 years and at Bell Packing for 9 years. He and his wife, Marie also owned Red Dot Dry Cleaners, retiring in 2012.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #601, Converse, a lifetime NRA member, a Bass Masters member and also had a federal firearms license and was a licensed gunsmith. He loved going fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Harlan of Marion; step-mother, Nancy Harlan of Fairmount; son, Jimmy L. ( Danielle) Harlan, Jr. of Auburn; daughters, Tammy (J.R.) Selleck of Gas City and Lisa Harlan of Peru; brother, Ronald (Linda) Hamblen of Marion; sisters, Carol Lynn (Dallas) Howard of Liberty Mills, and Kimberly Polston of Van Buren; and five grandchildren.
Jimmy was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Wayne Harlan.
Arrangements entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kim Road, Marion, Indiana.
Cremation will take place and Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
