Jo Ann Simons, born on November 20, 1923, in Summittville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, in La Fontaine, Indiana. Her journey through life was marked by dedication to her family and community.
After establishing a solid career in data processing and the personnel department at Dana Corporation, Jo Ann retired in 1980. Following her retirement, she embraced the joys of caring for children, providing babysitting services for newborns to kindergarten-age children, a role she cherished for many years.
Throughout her life, Jo Ann was committed to her faith and community service. She was a former member of Fowlerton Methodist Church and actively contributed her time and efforts to the Marion General Hospital Auxiliary. Her compassion extended further as she volunteered with Life Stream, embodying the spirit of altruism and kindness.
Jo Ann is survived by her loving family, including her son, Joseph (Tricia) Simons, and her daughter, Diane (Mack) Grady and her sister Patricia Williams. She took great pride in her grandchildren: Matthew Grady, Laura Grady, Claire Grady, Angela Rennier, and her step-granddaughter, Stephanie Hankinson. Jo Ann was also a cherished great-grandmother to Savanah Rennier, Alexis Rennier, and Wren Wolman.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph W. Webster, her mother, Sarah Webster, her husband, Paul Simons, and her siblings: Bob Webster, John Webster, Betty Nottingham, and Margaret Sisson.
Jo Ann Simons will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her dedication to her family, and her commitment to serving others. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
