John E. (Jack) Butler, age 65, of Marion, passed away at 10:40 a.m.Sunday, February 6, 2011, in his home.
Jack was born on June 14, 1945, in Laredo, Texas, the son of the late John (Robert) and Velva Pearl Butler.
Jack was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Ball State University. He served in the Army National Guard. He worked at Anaconda, Radio Shack and sold real estate.
He was a very active member of First Christian Church in Marion. He enjoyed Civil War History and Auto Racing.
Survivors include: wife, Evelyn (Ann) Butler of Marion, Indiana; the mother who raised him, Marjorie Paullin of Marion, Indiana; two brothers, Robert Butler (Nancy) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and David Butler of Vermont; and two sisters, Mary Kirby (Michael) of Marion, Indiana, and Leslie Lydick (Dennis) of Virginia.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Butler and a sister, Sally Hurd. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
