John Gary Cooper Jr

John Gary Cooper, Jr., age 40, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011.

John was born on August 30, 1971, in El Paso, Texas, the son of John Gary Cooper and Karen (Lahr) Cooper. He married Angelia Grove on August 27, 2004 and she survives.

John was a self-employed mechanic and owner of Cycles Unlimited, and was a partner of Automotive LTD with his father, John. He loved riding Harley's, and spending time riding dirt bikes with his children. John loved working on cars, trucks and painting vehicles. He most enjoyed working when Jr., Dad and Tony were all together. He attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and was a member of ABATE, the Gas City Chamber of Commerce, and the Jonesboro American Legion. But most of all, John loved spending time with his friends and his family.

Survivors include: wife, Angelia Cooper of Jonesboro, Indiana; father, John Gary Cooper (Patricia) of Summitville, Indiana; mother, Karen Jacobs of Jonesboro, Indiana; son, John Gary Cooper III of Jonesboro, Indiana; daughter, Deanna O'Daire of Upland, Indiana; two step-sons, Seth Grove and Ryan Grove, both of Jonesboro, Indiana; four sisters, Debra Powell of Huntington, Indiana, Julie Cooper (Joey) of Herbst, Indiana, Ivy Disher (Mike) of Reidville, N. Carolina, and Sharon Baker of Gas City, Indiana; step-sister, Tammy Calhoun of LaFontaine, Indiana; brother, Antonio Enrico Cooper (Teresa) of Jonesboro, Indiana; two step-brothers, Tom Calhoun and Ron Calhoun, both of Marion, Indiana; two grandmothers, Nellie M. Cooper of Marion, Indiana, and Jewell Scott of Durant, Florida; niece, Deanna Oliver of Jonesboro, Indiana, and two nephews, Evan Aguilar of Jonesboro, Indiana, and Junior Oliver of Jonesboro, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by step-father, Roy L. Jacobs, step-father, John S. Calhoun, grandfather, John Cooper, grandfather, Stephen Scott, grandparents, Carl and Margery Lahr, step-grandma, Alvina Kerstand, father-in-law, Seth Dickison, and mother-in-law, Marilyn Markley.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Kenneth Dykhoff officiating.

Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, and one hour prior to services on Monday, November 7, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the John Gary Cooper III Trust fund, in care of the funeral home.
