John R. Fager, age 75, of Marion, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, in his home.
John was born May 25, 1939, in Peru, Indiana, the son of the late Merlin and Geneva (Reed) Fager. On June 14, 1958, he married Barbara George, and she survives.
John was a graduate of LaFontaine High School. He was a truck driver for Hubbard Trucking for 32 years until his retirement.
John was an avid Indiana Pacer and IU fan and loved watching basketball. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, and enjoyed horses and the farm life where he stayed busy with the kids.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Fager of Marion, Indiana; three sons, John "Reed" (Lynnanne) Fager, Jr. of LaFontaine, Indiana, Bruce (Paula) Fager of Marion, Indiana, and Scott Fager of LaFontaine, Indiana; three daughters, Debra Fager, of Pennsylvania, Lisa (Todd) Hiple of Wabash, Indiana, and Carol (Steve) Fetter of Van Buren, Indiana; sister, Jane (Chuck) Kraus of Bloomington, Indiana, 10 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Merlin Fager, Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to John's caregiver, Natalie Gann.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Grace Community Church, 1810 E. Bradford, Marion, Indiana, with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Burial will follow funeral services in LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
