John C. Mcintyre

John C. McIntyre, age 60, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015, in Marion, Indiana.

John was born on October 20, 1954, in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Seldon and Shirley (Cornett) McIntyre. He married Deana Battishill on May 21, 1994 in Marion, and she survives.

John graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1974 and worked for the city of Marion for 34 years until his retirement.

John loved to fish and hunt. He collected coins and stamps. He enjoyed playing cards, watching television, and playing on the computer. He and his wife would travel to flea markets and spent their weekends at Yellow Creek Lake when they could. Spending time with his grandson was his passion. He loved working for the City of Marion and helping people.

Survivors include: wife, Deana McIntyre, Marion, Indiana; son, Jason (Stacie) McIntyre, VanBuren, Indiana; brother, Seldon Wayne McIntyre, New Mexico; brother-in-law, Bert (Paulette) Battishill of Gas City, Indiana; sister-in-law, Harriet (Richard) Engstrom of Crossville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Bill) Sapp of Alpine, Tennessee; and grandson, Hunter E. McIntyre.

He is also preceded in death by Brother Charles McIntyre.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Chaplain Don Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
