Jose A. Quiles, age 66, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Jose was born on May 16, 1946, in Puerto Rico, the son of the late Julio and Juana (Cruz) Quiles. On June 4, 1977, he married Patsy Gosnell, and she survives.
He was a highlifter at the Marion General Motors Plant for 32 years until his retirement.
Jose enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to barbecue.
Survivors include: wife, Patsy Quiles of Marion, Indiana; son, Jose (Dawn) Quiles, Jr. of Queens, New York; step-son, Shawn (Cresie) Roman of Gainsville, Florida; step-daughter, Selia Perez of Homa, Louisiana; two brothers, Julio (Delia Valentine) Quiles and Jose Quiles, both of Bronx, New York; sister, Maria Quiles of San Juan, Puerto Rico; father-in-law, Bernice D. Gosnell of Homa, Louisiana; grandchildren, Brandon Quiles, Ashley M. Quiles, Amanda A. Quiles, Jose A. Quiles, Jr., Carmelo Jaboy, Joselito Jaboy, McKayla Roman, and Maria Perez; and several nieces & nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ana Maldon, Fransica Quiles and Georgina Quiles; and four brothers, Luis, Rafael, Wilfredo and Domingo.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, with Reverend Mick Simpkins officiating.
Entombment will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 14, in the funeral home prior to services.
