JAMES R. FULLER, JR., age 62, of Marion, died on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the VA Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was born on January 6, 1947, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late James R. Fuller, Sr. and Joyce E. (Courtney) Fuller. She survives. He was a union tool and die maker.
Sergeant Fuller was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. He faithfully served his country in Vietnam form 1964 to 1968. He is a member of the American Legion Post #10 and 40 & 8. He certainly knew coins. Jim was an avid numismatis who bought, sold, and collected. He was a charter member of the Marion Coin Club. Harleys were a passion of Jim's. Upon his return from the service, he toured the West coast with many Harley-Davidson organizations. He loved to ride, but never on back. Jim loved his friends. He spent many afternoons watching NASCAR at the table. Being a fan of Dale Jr. was never held against him. He is loved and will be missed.
Survivors include mother, Joyce E. Fuller of Marion, Indiana; son, James R. Fuller, III of Montana; daughters, Amber Fuller of Marion, Indiana; and Jessica Lee Fuller of Washington; brothers, Kent Lee Fuller of Marion, Indiana; Kevin Fuller (Angie) of Martinsville, Indiana; and Tony R. Fuller of Marion, Indiana; sisters, Bobbi Lynn Hiatt of Marion, Indiana; Karen Sue Love of Fairmount, Indiana; Melody Druck (Dennis) of Marion, Indiana; Jo Jean Hubbard of Camdenton, Missouri; Joni Brown of Arkansas; and Madelyn Osborn (Mark) of Athens, Georgia; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Fuller, Sr. and two brothers, Thomas Lee and Darrell Dean Fuller.
Services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Jason Camery officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
