Karol Ann Coryea passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Marion to the late Bryce and Helen Yale on May 24, 1933.

Karol Ann was a 1951 graduate of Marion High School, Marion Indiana. She attended Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and Ball State University.

She married W. Gordon Coryea on June 12, 1954, and spent 45 wonderful years together before his passing in 1999.

Karol Ann was a lifelong member of Gethsemane Episcopal Church, Marion, Indiana. She was a member of Meshingomesia Country Club, Monday and Thursday Duplicate Bridge Club, Tri-Kappa Sorority, Marion Aero Club, and the Hostess House.

Karol Ann loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She enjoyed spending many summers at Lake Tippecanoe in northern Indiana, as well as vacationing in Florida and Hilton Head, South Carolina. She found great joy in flower gardening, bird watching, and looking after her pets.

Karol Ann is survived by 1 daughter, Laura (Dave) Dessing of Marion; 2 sons, Bryce (Cynthia), and Mark (Julie) of Marion; sister-in-law, Martha Coryea of Shelbyville, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, Mark Lester and fiancé, Julie Littler of Albany; Kelly Lester of Marion; Kristin, Bryce, Nick, Ryan, and Kyle Coryea of Marion; 1 great-grandson, Luke Lester; special friend, Marvin "Bim" Baumbaugh; and her golden Labrador, Macy; and cats, Lilly and Rowdy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryce and Helen Yale; brother, Clare Yale; and husband, W. Gordon Coryea.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at the Gethsemane Episcopal Church located at 111 E. 9th Street, Marion, Indiana, with Father Jim Warnock and Father Frank King officiating.

Burial will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren, Indiana.
