Kenneth M. Buckler, age 65, passed away January 5, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Kenneth was born February 23, 1947, in Belleville, Kentucky, the son of the late James and Lucille (Stephens) Buckler. He married Dorothy Travis on May 29, 1969, and she survives.
Kenneth graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1965. He was a CNC programmer at DANA for over 40 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S. Army 1st Air Calvary as an E-5 Buck Sergeant. Honors received during his service include: bronze star medal, air medal, national defense service medal, Vietnam service medal, and combat infantry badge. He was also a member of the Sweetser Fire Department for 25 years and an EMT.
Kenneth loved to fish and he raised horses. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoyed taking them fishing.
Survivors include; wife, Dorothy Travis Buckler of Amboy, Indiana; 2 Sons, James Buckler of Sweetser, Indiana and Jesse (Cathy) Buckler of Kimmell, Indiana; daughter, Kristina (David) Brown of Huntington, Indiana; 2 brothers, Larry (Sharon) Buckler of Florida and Gary (Sandy) Buckler of Sweetser, Indiana; and 10 grandchildren, Kelly, Kayla, Luke, Maria, Aaron, Samuel, Matthew, Ashley, Roxy, and Wila.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dean Brown.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Easterling officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
