Kenneth A. Gillespie

August 9, 1957 — December 29, 2020

Kenneth A. Gillespie, age 63 of Marion passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Marion General Hospital.

Kenneth was born on August 9, 1957 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Paul and Mary Etta (Rennaker) Gillespie.   He worked in maintenance and as a machinist at RCA for 26 years; delivered campers for Star Fleet; and then was a bus driver for the City of Marion until 2019.

Kenneth was a lifetime member of the Sons of Amvets Post 5 in Marion, the Sons of American Legion Post 10 in Marion and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1778 in Gas City.  He volunteered for Help the Hopeful for many years.

He is survived by his life partner, Julia Sparks of Marion; his extended family, Dixie (Mark) Oldham of Markle and Rita Kaehr of Decatur; special friend, Tim Yeakle of Marion; special niece, Heather Scott and many other nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was also preceded in death by his sister, Becky Scott and her husband, David Scott.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
