Kenneth L. Richison, age 99, of LaFontaine, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, in his home.
Kenneth was born on April 12, 1911, in Huntington County, Indiana, the son of the late Demming and Flora (Rinker) Richison. He married Ada G. Hedrick and she preceded him in death on March 20, 1988.
Kenneth was a self-employed farmer until his retirement in 1978, and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Kenneth liked to work and loved to mow the yard. He was best known as a "behind the scenes thinker".
Survivors include: two sons, Dean Richison (Sandy), and Eldon Richison (Janet), 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Wearly, two brothers, Everett Richison and Austin Richison, two sisters, Georgia Burns and Eva Helm, and a great granddaughter, Emily Richison.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion with Reverend Greg Clark officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7 and from 1:00 p.m. until services on Friday, April 8, at the funeral home.
