Kerry "Joe" Sumner

Kerry “Joe” Sumner, age 54, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.

He was born in Converse, Indiana on June 14, 1962 to the late Kenneth Robertson and Kaye “Kayla” Prickett.  His mother survives.  He attended Oak Hill High School.  On September 5, 1998, he married Tina Moore and she also survives.  Joe was a load coordinator at Jet Express.

He enjoyed harness horse racing, dirt track racing, watching NASCAR and was an all around sports fan.  Joe had a genuine love for his family.

He is survived by his mother Kaye “Kayla” (Keith) Prickett of Marion; his wife Tina Sumner of Marion; son, Matthew Sumner of Titusville, Florida; four daughters, Carie Montgomery of Marion, Kelly Montgomery of Marion, Angel (Phil) Ahrendt of Knightstown, Indiana and Stephanie Threet of Marion; brother, John Robertson of Kokomo; and nine grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his special great-grandparents, Bob and Emma Sowash.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Jim Miller officiating.

Friends and family may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home; and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26 in the funeral home prior to funeral services.

Burial will immediately follow funeral services in Converse Cemetery, Converse, Indiana.
