Lawrence E. Byer

Lawrence E. Byer, age 83, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Faith Hospice, Trillium Woods, Michigan.
Lawrence was born June 5, 1931, in Bronson, Michigan, the son of the late Odas and Dora (Bricker) Byer. He married Janet Chapman on October 18, 1953, and she survives.
Lawrence was a U.S. Marine veteran and worked as a press operator at Bell Fibre Packaging until his retirement.
He was a member of D.A.V., Chapter 5. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: wife, Janet Byer of Wyoming, Michigan; a son, Jeffrey (Tina) Byer of Grand Rapids, Michigan; two daughters, Teresa (Paul) Ickes of Grandville, Michigan, and Lawrene "Lauri" Byer of Wyoming, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Byer Sosh; and three brothers, Melvin, Edward and Donald Byer.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Burial with military honors will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana following funeral services.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, August 30, in the funeral home prior to funeral services.
