Lela Garner Guinnup Wright

LELA GARNER GUINNUP WRIGHT, age 88, went to be with Her Lord Jesus on Friday, July 25, 2008, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, Marion.
LELA was born on June 17, 1920, in Scott Co. KY, the daughter of the late Thomas J. Drake and Dora Gorham. She married Ivan Garner who preceded her in death in 1957. She then married Robert Guinnup who preceded her in death in 1992. On July 2, 1993, she married Norval Wright who survives.
She and Ivan owned Garner's Grocery for eighteen years until her retirement in1963.
She attended Hillside Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School for 10 years and was a member of the Crusaders Class. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of the Plaza Senior Bowlers, the Super 60's, and the YMCA. She loved to take walks, quilt, play cards, and tend to her flower garden.
Survivors include Husband, Norval Wright of Marion, Son, Terry "Butch" Garner (Nancy) of Sweetser Daughter, Carol Stines (John) of Bristol, VA, Step-Sons, Ed Wright of Wisconsin and David Guinnup (Diane) of Delaware, Step-Daughters, Cathy Voght (Jeff) of Marion and Sharon Falano of Texas, 16 Grandchildren, and 21, Great-Grandchildren.
Additionally she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Garner, and 10 brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Hillside Wesleyan Church with Reverend Gary L. Bingham officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, July 28 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, and from 12:00 until the time of Service Tuesday at the Church.
