Leonard Joseph Durieux, age 72, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Marion Rehab, Marion, Indiana.
Leonard was born December 10, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Oscar Durieux and the late Emma (Stoneburner) Grasley. He married Olga Garza on December 5, 1986 and she survives.
Leonard worked 37 years at Gen Corp Automotive. He was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did.
He was a member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church and loved his church family. Leonard was avid at rummaging and collecting all kinds of memorabilia from the 50's and 60's. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it whether they were family, friend or stranger. He loved life and spending time with his family. Leonard had a special place in his heart for his dog, Ginger.
Survivors include: wife, Olga Durieux of Marion, Indiana; children, Lu (Mike) Rice of Goshen, Indiana, Michelle (Damon) Yeomans of Marion, Indiana, Eric (Kelly) Sexton of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Michelle (Joe) Brinker of Marion, Indiana; brother, Jim Durieux of Falmouth, Kentucky; sister, Vicki Owen of Sun City Center, Florida; grandchildren, Michael Rice, Kenny (fiancée, Nicole) Durieux, Dustin (Ashley) Durieux, Chelsea (Doug) Davis, Rylee (Shayna) Coppock, Christian Marin, Casey Marin, and Graham Sexton; 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Durieux; mother Emma (Stoneburner) Grasley and step-father, Kenny Grasley.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Sunnycrest Baptist Church, 2172 W. Chapel Pike, Marion, Indiana.
Burial will follow funeral services in Riverside Cemetery, Gas City, Indiana.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, in the church prior to funeral services.
