LESTER RIGNEY, age 91, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System, Marion.
LESTER was born on November 20, 1917, in Monticello, Kentucky, the son of the late Conn and Dora (Sexton) Rigney. He married Edath Dobbs who preceded him in death in August 2002.
He was an Army veteran serving during WWII. He worked at General Motors and Phileo until his retirement in 1965.
Survivors include Son, Allen & Joyce Rigney of Alexandria, Indiana; step-sons, James Crabtree and Danny Crabtree and grandchildren Chris & Michael Rigney.
He was also preceded in death by step-son, Donald Crabtree, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Graveside Services & Burial with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at South Mound Cemetery, New Castle, Indiana.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family sincerely requests that memorial contributions be made to the VA Hospital, 1700 E. 38th. Street, Marion, Indiana 46953.
