Lillian L. Hewitt, age 101, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 in Wesleyan Health Care in Marion, Indiana.
Lillian was born on October 29, 1914 in Grant County, Indiana the daughter of the late Alvin and Laura Belle (Bish) Hewitt. She was a life-long resident of Marion.
Lillian was a graduate of Ball State University and Indiana University. She was an Elementary Teacher at Marion Community Schools for 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion and enjoyed reading, writing poetry, traveling, raising flowers and needlework. She knitted blankets, hats and scarves for missionary families and for the local homeless needs. Lillian, her sister and cousin traveled the world.
She is survived by cousins, John A. Roush and Richard Roush.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Friends may call from noon to 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home prior to funeral services.
Burial will follow funeral services in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
