LLOYD M. WOLFE, age 99, of Marion died at 1:10 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, Marion.
LLOYD was born on September 16, 1908, in Hillsboro, Ohio, the son of the late Glenn Wolfe and Mary (Duckwall) Wolfe. At the age of five years, he came to Marion and has been a resident of Marion all his life.
He graduated from Marion High School in 1926. He attended DuPauw University at Greencastle, Indiana and the Indiana Business College. He served as treasurer of Canton Glass Company located on West Spencer Avenue for 17 years; was office manager of Marion Handle Box for eight years, and retired from Bell Packaging Corporation as assistant auditor in 1973. He spent many winters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the 1940's and 1950's, working with a group to bring classical music artists to Marion during the winter seasons. He enjoyed his foreign travels.
He was a member of the First Christian Church for 50+ years and, upon its relocation, became an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a Past Master of the Samaritan Lodge #105 F&AM; a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #94; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Ft. Wayne; The Mizpah Temple; Ft. Wayne Shriners; Grant County York Rite; Grant County Scottish Rite Club and a 60+ year member of the Marion Lions Club.
He is survived by four cousins, Edna Duff of Greenfield, Ohio; Sue Patterson of St. Charles, Missouri; Linda Hunt of Kokomo, Indiana and Dr. Charles Bayless of Culver, Indiana.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Lyle Ewing officiating.
Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday April 10, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 p.m.
