Lois Louise (Kiel) Burge
July 11, 1924 — April 29, 2014
Lois Louise Kiel Burge, age 89, of Kentland, Indiana, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Sterling House, Marion, Indiana.
Lois was born on July 11, 1924, to the late Grover and Lydia (Burbrink) Kiel in Columbus, Indiana, and later moved to Vincennes, Indiana. She married Gerhard Burge on August 3, 1952, and they moved to Kentland, Indiana.
Lois was a wonderful homemaker to her husband and four children. She also did bookkeeping at the G Burge Real Estate office in Kentland. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goodland Indiana where she had been active in the Ladies Aid Ministry. She was also a scout leader, and member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She will be missed by her family, Janet (Jerry) Schuh of Marion, Indiana; Marlys (Rick) Bridgeman of Kentland, Indiana; Dan Burge of Indianapolis, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, Jeff, Ross, Nicole, Heather Aaron, Ryan and Alyssa; 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard in 1997, and a daughter, Karen (Lowell) Cluver in 2001.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 217 W. Jasper Street, Goodland, Indiana with Pastor David Mueller officiating.
Burial will follow funeral services in Fairlawn Cemetery, Kentland, Indiana.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) Saturday, May 3, 2014, in the church prior to funeral services.
