Lorna Dean (Mason) McIlwain, age 80, of Marion, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in her home.
Lorna was born on September 1, 1932, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ernest and Wilma (Maseena) Mason. She married Jack McIlwain on April 17, 1954, and he survives.
Lorna was a homemaker and a member of the Jalapa Methodist Church where she was also choir director. She was also a member of the Mississinewa Valley of the Eastern Star; the Pleasant Township Farm Club; Delta Theta Tau Sorority; Garden Club; Euchre Club; Bridge Club; Home Economics Club; and was a Precinct Committee Woman.
Survivors include: husband, Jack McIlwain of Marion, Indiana; two sons, John (Debbie) McIlwain and Greg (Lori) McIlwain, both of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Bishir of Greentown, Indiana, John "JJ" McIlwain of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, Jack A. McIlwain of Seymour, Indiana, Michael McIlwain of Marion, Indiana, Abigail Paulson of Marion, Indiana, and Samuel Marshall of Marion, Indiana; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating.
Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana at a later date.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
