Lou Ella Murphy, age 96, of Marion, passed away at 3:34 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Rolling Meadows Health Care, LaFontaine, Indiana.
Lou Ella was born August 16, 1918, in Otterbein, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Harris) Grimes. She married James Murphy on December 24, 1936, and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2006.
Lou Ella was a homemaker and the manager of a fabric shop in Ohio for 6 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Marion.
Survivors include: son, Frederic Murphy of Deland, Florida; daughter, Carol Ann (Ray) Herbort of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Melissa (Greg) Mize, Tamara (Jeff) Manjerovic, Roger (Suzett) Herbort, Mark (Debbie) Herbort, Jeff (Kathy) Herbort, and Glen (Valerie) Herbort; great-grandchildren, James M. Murphy, Ashley Mize, Mathew Cantrell, Oscar, Margaret and Elias Manjerovic, Heather (Parrish) Peachee, Jenny (Bobby) Hart, and Devan (Rob) Line, Ryan, Morgan, Brandon (Brittany) Herbort, and Adam (Briana) Herbort; and great-great grandchildren, Savannah and Hayden Hart, Easton, Kinley, Sophia, Autumn and Wyatt.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Michael Murphy and Don Herbort; and 3 sisters and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Father Richard Weisenberger officiating.
Burial will follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
