Lucy A. Davis, age 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010, in her home.
Lucy was born on November 30, 1931, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Herman and Goldie (Pritchett) Shaneberger. She married Donald Davis on January 1, 1954. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1982.
She was a Comptroller at the Pierce Company and Treasurer at Avis Corporation for 51 years before retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Christland United Methodist Church where she also served as Treasurer of the Mission Committee. She was a board member of the Marion Missions Storehouse and a member of the United Methodist Women and the Ladies Tuesday Morning Bible Study. Lucy enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, camping and fishing and was a former bowler.
Survivors include: son, Gene Davis (Linda) of LaPorte, Indiana; three daughters, Katie Wells, Peggy Wiggin, and Susan DeLong (Robert), all of Marion, Indiana; sister, Donna Bragg of Marion, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren & one great-great grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Roy Shaneberger; a son-in-law, Lowell Wells and a great-grandson, Gabriel.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Christland United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Russ Smith & Reverend Ken Vance officiating.
Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery, Matthews, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, November 12 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
