Madonna Susan Hendey, age 92, of Marion, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Susan was born on December 29, 1918, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Archie Sloan II and Clara Mae (Brown) Sloan. She married Charles G. Hendey who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church. Susan enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and extended family.
Survivors include: son, Tony C. Hendey of Marion, Indiana; daughter, Sherrill (John) Hays, New Hampshire; brother, Kenneth (Alene) Sloan of Marion, Indiana; sister, Louise Shinault of Fishers, Indiana; grandson, Thomas Ezra Osborn Hays (Priya) of California; and several nieces & nephews.
She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Archie Sloan, Max Sloan and Charles Sloan; and a sister Marjorie Reese.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call one hour prior to services on Thursday, June 23, at the funeral home.
