Marcelene E. (Grenzenbach) Osborn

Marcelene E. Osborn, age 89, of Marion, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, Marion, Indiana.

Marcelene was born August 19, 1925, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Carl and Erma (Richhart) Grenzenbach. She married J.C. Osborn, and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1974.

Marcelene was a graduate of Central High School in 1943. She worked at General Tire for 33 years until her retirement in 1987.

She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Amvets Auxiliary, and was a charter member of the Gas City Moose where she served as College Regent. She was also a member of the Steel Workers Union #466 of General Tire.

Survivors include: son, Steve (Sheryl) Osborn of Marion, Indiana; brother, Carl Grenzenbach; two sisters, Mary Jane Hardesty and Devaun Patten; 6 grandchildren, Kim (Adam) Whorl of Fairmount, Indiana, Terry (Sunny) Osborn of Gas City, Indiana, Jay (Jackie) Osborn of Marion, Indiana, Steve Osborn, Jr. of Fairmount, Indiana, Mark Osborn of Fairmount, Indiana and Tracy (Jan) Little of Fairmount, Indiana; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Grenzenbach, and sister, Helen Tagmeyer.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.

Burial will follow funeral services in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, in the funeral home prior to funeral services.
