Marcia Ann Joy, age 82, formerly of Marion, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Buena Vida Assisted Living in West Melbourne, Florida.
Marcia was born July 10, 1929, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late J.T. and Rachael (Thomas) Murrell. She married Jack Joy on May 15, 1977, and he survives.
Marcia worked at Murrell Clothing Store and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Tri Kappa; P.E.O.; the Hostess House; the Elks; and the Steven's Alumni Association. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church, and had attended First Friends Church.
Survivors include: husband, Jack Joy of W. Melbourne, Florida; niece, Diana Gardner (Jack); nephew, David (Carol) Murrell; nephew, Jack (Barb) Murrell; and many other special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James O. Murrell and Robert T. Murrell.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Pastor Dane Leitch officiating.
Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
