Marian W. Miller, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Rolling Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center, LaFontaine, Indiana.
Marian was born on February 21, 1929, in Fairmount, Indiana, the daughter of the late Earl and Georgia (Bright) Bowen. She married Donald Miller on July 2, 1950, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1983.
She was a secretary at Anaconda, and then General Tire until her retirement. Marian was a former member of the United Rubber Workers. Prior to going into the nursing home, she participated in all of the activities at Suite Living in Sweetser. She loved to play Bingo, watch the Indiana Pacers, go to Cincinnati Reds ballgames, and listening to big band music. Marian loved going to watch her children march for Marion Highsteppers in the local parades. She also enjoyed visiting her nephew and sister-in-law in Chicago.
Survivors include: three sons, Randall "Randy" (Lori) Miller of Marion, Indiana, Steven (Julie) Miller of Gas City, Indiana, Timothy "Tim" (Toni) Miller of Muncie, Indiana; three daughters, Lynn (Bill) Abney of Marion, Indiana, Denise (Larry) Hile of Hartford City, Indiana, Shari (Will) Baird of Wabash, Indiana; sister, Eloise (Kenneth) Robb of Marion, Indiana; sister-in-law, Donna Bowen of Gas City, Indiana; 11 grandchildren, Jason (Ann) Miller, Amy Miller (fiance Aron Weller), Angela (Jake) Morrow, Brad (Mary) Hile, Brian (Deborah) Hile, Stacy Mitchell, Joshua Miller, Dylan Miller, Dalton Miller, Benjamin Kline, Shane Kline; 2 step-grandchildren, Kellie (Steve) Gorrell, Annette (Mark) Ogle; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild "on the way"; 5 step great-grandchildren, 2 step great-great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and James Bowen; and sister-in-law, Barbara Bowen.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 , at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with the Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the funeral home.
