Maridean M. Hinkle, age 93, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Robin Run Health Care Center, Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was born on April 23, 1923 in Cass County, Indiana to the late Cecil T. and Gail M. (Dillman) Morrow. She married Leon L. Hinkle on February 22, 1944, and he preceded her in death on August 13, 1999.
She graduated from Twelve Mile High School and Indiana Business College in Logansport, Indiana. She worked at the Muehlhasen Spring Factory in Logansport, Indiana. After her marriage, she accompanied her husband during WWII. She was employed with the company that was constructing the City of Warner Robins, Georgia. He was stationed at Warner Robins Air Force Base. Today, that city has a population of over 50,000.
She confessed her faith and was baptized in the Eel River, Mexico, Indiana. While living in Marion, she became a faithful member of the First Christian Church. She has attended since 1947. She was a member of the Dorcas Circle and the Crusader's Class.
She was a homemaker, wife, and mother of four children. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, traveling and genealogy. She cross-stitched a beautiful wall hanging for each of her grandchildren. After her youngest child entered the seventh grade, she gained employment at Riverview School and retired after 21 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Marlene (Hinkle) Lux (Larry) of Carmel, Indiana, Nancy Hinkle and Carol (Hinkle) Stimac (Bob), both of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister, Lois M. Thomson of Logansport, Indiana; grandchildren, Benjamin Hinkle, Meghan Hinkle, Jessica Smiley-Brown, Stephanie Nees, Elizabeth Lux, Eleanor Hinkle and John Stimac; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel and Santiago Hinkle-Woodbridge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley E. Hinkle on December 11, 2005; brothers, Kenneth, Jay, and Raymond Morrow; and sister, Betty Pearl Conrad.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the First Christian Church, 1970 Wabash Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Joyce Coalson and Reverend Roslyn Harrison officiating.
Burial will immediately follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
