Marilyn J. Kilgore, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, in Marion, Indiana, her hometown where she was born on August 24, 1957. With heavy hearts, her family gathers to remember the warmth and joy she brought into their lives.
Marilyn was a devoted wife to her husband, Mark Kilgore, with whom she shared a deep and loving bond. Her love for family was immeasurable, reflected in the close relationships she nurtured with her children: James (Kelly) Hawkins, John Hawkins, and Stacie Hawkins. Each moment spent with her grandchildren – Kali (Colton) Summers, Kristen (Reed) Osbourn, Justin (Megan) Hawkins, Jaren Hawkins, and Jolee Hawkins – brought her immeasurable joy. She took great pride in being a grandmother, and her legacy will live on through her great-grandchildren, Camden, Reese, and Claira, who were a special light in her life.
Marilyn's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She is survived by her sisters: Karen Tibbets, Judy Berry, Diana Sailors, and Leona Gray, who will forever hold dear the memories shared with her.
In life, Marilyn was a true homebody, finding happiness and fulfillment in being surrounded by her loved ones. Her heart swelled with love at family gatherings, where laughter and stories filled the air. She had a love for cooking, often preparing meals that brought everyone together at the table, filling not only their plates but their hearts as well. Marilyn’s beloved pets were always by her side, and she showered them with affection, as they were an integral part of her home and heart.
As we gather to celebrate her life, we will remember and honor Marilyn for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and her joyful presence. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on February 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both held at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
