Martha G. Sloderbeck, age 89, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
She was born July 30, 1926, in Marion, Indiana the daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Lewark) Sprowl. She married Jay Dee Blodgett on October 15, 1943 and he preceded her in death in June 1944. She then married Robert E. Sloderbeck on March 3, 1951 and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2003. She was a homemaker.
She was a past member of the Eagles, the Amvets Post 5 and the American Legion Post. 10. Martha enjoyed going to her lake cottage on Silver Lake, fishing, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Robert G. (Valerie) Sloderbeck of Marion, Indiana and Jeff (Dianna Heiser) Sloderbeck of North Liberty, Indiana; two daughters, Bonnie (Steve) Tuttle of Swayzee, Indiana and Cindy (Bill) Russell of Marion, Indiana; 7 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 due this week; 2 great-great grandchildren; and her special friend Harriet Bell.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Little and Marlene Spence; great-aunt, Dorothy Byer; and parents.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
