Marvin Lee Oyler, age 76, of Marion, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 in Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Marvin was born on June 30, 1941 in Converse, Indiana to the late John and Margaruite (Dangerfield) Oyler. He married Marjorie L. Cooper on April 20, 1974 and she preceded him in death. He was an Army veteran and worked at Dana Corporation for 20 years until his retirement.
Marvin was a member of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for several years. He was very devoted to his church. He also loved his dog “Ricky”. Marvin also enjoyed painting with watercolors and oils.
He is survived by a son, Alan Oyler of Marion; step-son, Sheldon E. Sutton of Kokomo; daughters, Nancy (John) Anderson of Marion and Sherrie (Jack) Kikendall of Gas City; step-daughter, Nancy Whitener of Wabash; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Russell, Roy and Johnny Oyler; a sister, Margaret Rayburn and a step-daughter, Sondra Hale.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jay Shady officiating.
Burial will be held in the LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine, Indiana.
