Mary Ann (Smith) Mullins

Mary Ann Mullins, age 82, of Marion, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014, in her home.

Mary Ann was born August 17, 1932, in Grays Knob, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James Clarence and Martha Ethel (Williams) Smith. She married John "Jack" Mullins on November 15, 1952, and he preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Greensfork, Indiana High School and earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degree at Ball State University. She was a school teacher at Marion Community Schools until her retirement.

She was a member of Temple Congregational Church; the P.E.O.; and the Elk's Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, sewing, traveling and wintering in Anna Maria Island, Florida. She was also an avid Bridge player.

Survivors include: son, Jim (Margie) Mullins of Bradenton, Florida; daughter, Betsy (Howard) Downey of Hope, Indiana; sister, Frances Workman of Hagerstown, Indiana; grandchildren, Patrick Downey, John Downey, April Mullins and Michael Mullins; and great-grandchildren, Lindzy, Kayleen and Jeremy.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Jane Fisher.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Marv Wiseman officiating.

Burial will follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 24, 2014 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Family Life Hospice; Temple Congregational Church; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
