Mary C. Vinson

Mary C. Vinson, age 87, passed away at her residence, Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was born June 3, 1936, in Marion, Indiana. The daughter of the late Alfred and Lillian (Martin) Harreld. She married Leonard “Gene” Vinson on June 21, 2003, and he proceeded her in death on June 14, 2008.

Mary was a homemaker and in her “spare” time she was an avid reader. She also loved to bowl and was in the morning league at Crest Lanes and had several trophies to show for her efforts. She enjoyed camping and cooking and was always willing to try a new recipe.

She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Willhide; four sons, Mark (Virginia) Green, Timothy (Barbara) Green, Gary (Julie) Green and Tony (Rosy) Green; one step-daughter Cynthia (Dan) Meyer; three step-sons, David (Sharon) Vinson, Larry Vinson, and Mark (Ada) Vinson; one sister, Suzanna Harreld-Ohlwine; 9 grandchildren and 14 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 25 step great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and 2 on the way, and 2 step great great  grandchildren, 1 niece and 3 nephews and several step nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her sister Dixie Henderson and her brother Joseph Harreld.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, March 22, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 W Kem Rd., Marion. Funeral serves will be held at 1:00 PM following visitation. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Sweetser, Indiana.
