MAX M. HAIRELL, age 72, of Marion, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Marion General Hospital, Marion.
Max was born on August 13, 1937, in Marion, Indiana, the son of Lloyd and Eloise (Charles) Hairell. He married Freida Seward. She survives.
He worked as a machine operator at Dana Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Marion Eagles Lodge. Max loved to hunt, fish, boat, camp and anything outdoors. He also loved to color with pencils.
Survivors include, wife, Freida Hairell of Marion, Indiana; son, Kevin Hairell (Mary) of Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Mary Catherine McCollum (Kenny) and Alice Marie Hairell, both of Marion, Indiana; three step-daughters, Rebecca Flynn of Marion, Indiana; Kimberly Wright (Larry) of Gas City, Indiana and Christine DeShaw (Bill) of Fairmount, Indiana; one step-son, Danny Blessing of Ohio; sister, Patty Thompson (Gene) of Jonesboro, Indiana; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, June Ann Keen, a brother, Terry Hairell and a sister, Vicki Furnish.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with the Reverend Clarence Hand officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Etna Cemetery, Mt. Etna, Indiana.
