Maxine Goldburg (AKA Moosie or Moose), age 101, died at her home surrounded by her family. Maxine was born in the kitchen of her mother's home in Industry, Illinois. She was the second child of June and Earl Ingles.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frank Goldburg; siblings Earlene Campbell, Phyllis Nelson and Donovan Ingles; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Goldburg.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Richard Goldburg (Jackie) of Marion, Indiana; and David Goldburg, Franklin, Michigan; her six grandchildren, Meredith Saxe (Gareth) New Jersey; Michael Goldburg, New York; Julia Goldburg, Indianapolis; Nancy Williams (Douglas) Indianapolis; Gretchen Klein (Jon), California; and Lindsey McMordie (Alec), California. Her five great-grandchildren; Nathan, Charlie, Griffith, Abram, Anna and Bernice.
Maxine married Dr. Frank Goldburg on February 18, 1936, they lived in Macomb, Illinois where Dr. Goldburg practiced optometry until he retired. At the age of 83, Dr. Goldburg died on February 9, 1998 at the age of 91. Maxine then moved to Marion to be closer to her son Dr. Richard Goldburg. She lived in Marion the rest of her life.
Maxine spent most of her life as a homemaker and a grand cook and baker. She was an avid reader. She loved to work in her flowers-great gardener. She was a member of the Macomb Beautiful. She worked with both the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. She was a hospital volunteer at McDonough District Hospital and for the Red Cross.
She was a supreme professional sports fan; Basketball Football, Tennis, and Golf. She watched them all. She became a good Colts Fan. She also played golf in Macomb Country Club, where she was a member for 52 year. She was also member of the Sinai Temple in Marion
She will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery, 1027 N. Randolph, Macomb, Illinois. There will be a Graveside Service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015. Family and Friends may come.
