Michael Charles Kriegbaum, age 67, passed away Sunday April 28, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born February 4, 1957, in Marion, the son of the late Thomas and Marie (Gilvin) Kriegbaum. Mike graduated from Marion High School with the class of 1975, On April 1, 1978, he married Lisa Hiatt, and they recently celebrated their forty sixth wedding anniversary. She survives in Marion.
Mike enjoyed being outside and coached his daughter Kelly in coach’s pitch baseball at the P.A.L. Club when he was younger. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Marion Giants, rooting for his beloved Cubbies and watching the Colts. Mike also enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball in the driveway and watching them compete in soccer, basketball, and golf. An excellent mechanic, he was employed at Kriegbaum Farm Equipment. Mike could fix anything from a lawn mower to a bulldozer.
In addition to his wife Lisa, Mike is survived by his daughter: Kelly (Doug) Pearcy, three sisters: Diane Hutcheson, Debra Kay Kriegbaum, and Marcia Kriegbaum, two grandsons: Conner and Cohen Pearcy, one niece, two nephews and several cousins. Also surviving are his cherished dogs Penny and Nick.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Marie: Grandparents: Charles and Magdalene Kriegbaum, Father and Mother-in-law: Bill and Pat Hiatt, and brother-in-law: Gregory Hiatt.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday May 3, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1301 W Kem Rd., Marion, Indiana 46952. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation. Father Ted Rothrock will officiate.
