Mildred J. Hayes, age 77, of Marion, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 in her home.
Mildred was born on May 20, 1934, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Herman Martin and Ruby (Sargeant) Martin. She married Robert E. Herring and he preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Paul Edward Hayes, and he preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a waitress and dining room manager at the Meshingomesia Country Club for more than 20 years. Mildred was a loving mother and loved animals.
Survivors include: son, Robert E. (Kim) Herring, Jr. of Warsaw, Indiana; three daughters, Rebecca (Randy) McNeal of Montrose, Georgia, Susan (Ray) Ybarra of Marion, Indiana, and Mindy (Keith) Ashba of Marion, Indiana; 4 step-children; sister, Kristina Martin of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie (Gene) Currier of Miami, Florida, Billy Pitcock of Tennessee, Charlotte (Kris) Dixon of Dexter, Georgia, Rachel McNeal of Rochelle, Georgia, Jay (Lisa) Ferguson of Marion, Indiana, Davey (Emily) Ferguson of Marion, Indiana, Bobby Herring III of California, Harley Herring of Warsaw, Indiana, Elektra Herring of Warsaw, Indiana, Wyatt Herring of Warsaw, Indiana, D.J. Ashba of Marion, Indiana, and Hunter Ashba of Marion, Indiana; 8 great-grandchildren, 7 step great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Gary Bingham officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home.
