Mitchell W. Simons, age 55, of Marion, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Mitchell was born on June 24, 1958, in Hartford City, Indiana, the son of Charles Simons and Almetta (Tomlinson) Simons.
Mitchell was a 1976 graduate of Marion High School and worked in powder coating at Lein Corporation. He loved to fish.
Survivors include: mother and father, Charles and Almetta Simons of Marion, Indiana; two sisters, Sherry (Jim) McAfee of Noblesville, Indiana, and Natalie (Eric) Wasson of Cicero, Indiana; half-brother, Charles (Phadra) Simons of California; half-sister, Joann (Richard) Olsen of Portland, Oregon; several nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Taz and Mezzi.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Debbie Maddox.
A gathering to celebrate Mitchell's life will be held at Sunnycrest Methodist Church, 1921 W. Bradford Street, Marion, Indiana on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. with a short Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at donations.diabetes.org.
