MYRTLE HOLGATE, age 94, died at 9:19 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2008, at home.
MYRTLE was born on April 26, 1914, in Spartanburg, S. Carolina. Due to the early death of her parents, she was adopted and raised in Grassy Cove, Tennessee by the Brady family. She married Edward Percival Holgate on September 26, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1986. Their life was in Detroit, Michigan and Marion, Indiana.
MYRTLE was unselfish, giving, caring and had an action of doing, not empty words. She was enjoyed, loved and admired by family and friends. She will leave wonderful memories of laughter and spunky sass. Thank you Mom.
Survivors include Daughter, Geraldine M. "Jean" Olds (Van); loved like a son, Cecil Dugger; Grandchildren, Scott L. Olds (Kim); Dorinda D. Olds; Sonia J. Cain (Brett) and Trinna A. Jacks (finace' Jeff J. Miller); 10 great-grandchildren, Jamie, Chelsey, Drew, Sandhal, Brittni, Whittni, Kristtini, Lyndsay, Cierra & Kyndal; nephew, J.C. Atkinson; and niece, Cornelia Hughes.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Velma Atkinson and nephew, J.E. Atkinson.
Family and friends are invited to Graveside Services & Burial at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
