Nancy Jane Mathias

Nancy Jane Mathias, age 63, passed away peacefully in her home March 24, 2010 with her family at her bedside after battling a long-time illness.
Nancy was born on March 4, 1947, in Peru, Indiana, to Samuel Raymer and Ruth (Easterday) Raymer. She had two sisters and one brother, Delores Vanpatten, Marvin Raymer and Neoma Raymer. When she was sixteen, she married the love of her life, Johnny Mathias on July 28, 1963. She had three children, Lisa, Johnathan, and Cindy Mathias.
Nancy was a wonderful wife of 47 years, as well as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Desha, Carissa and Joseph Richey; Alyssa and Preston Mathias; William, Leiana, Kayla and Alina Rangel; Jadelin, Gretchen, and Gabe Richey; Jessiah Gray, Mya Daniels, and Nevaeh Rangle. She was a homemaker who enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her grandkids. She always put others first and knew the right things to say when it came to advice. Nancy will be greatly missed by us all.
Survivors include, her husband, Johnny, her three children Lisa, Johnathan and Cindy Mathias; her brother, Marvin (Norena) Raymer; and sister, Delores Vanpatten.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and little sister, Neoma.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery, Roann, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
