Norma F. Shafer, age 76, of Marion, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011, at home.

Norma was born on September 14, 1934, in Huntington County to Lester and Thelma Resler.

She was a technician at RCA-Thompson Consumer Electronics until her retirement, and was a member of Sunnycrest Methodist Church.

Survivors include: three sons, Mark (Becky) Bertram, John (Beth) Bertram, and Jeffrey (Joni) Bertram; two daughters, Diana Colyer, and Lauri (Joe) Braun; mother, Thelma Resler; step-son, Charles Shafer II; two step-daughters, Sherry (Mike) Owens, and Patty (Rick) Scranton; sister, Lois Resler; sister-in-law, Nancy Resler; brother-in-law, the Reverend Harold Waltrous; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Lester Resler, and her husband, Charles Shafer, two brothers, Paul Resler and Eugene Resler, and sister, Carole Watrous.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 9, 2011 at the Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, 1921 West Bradford Street, Marion, Indiana. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, 1921 West Bradford Street, Marion, Indiana 46952.
